Sunjay Kapoor was helping Karisma Kapoor and her children get Portuguese citizenship: New detail out amidst Rs 30,000 crore family feud

Months after Karisma Kapoor‘s ex-husband Sunjay Kapur’s demise, the feud regarding his property continues. On Tuesday, Karisma’s children filed a suit in the Delhi High Court alleging that Sunjay’s widowed wife Priya has forged his will. On Wednesday, the Delhi High Court formally took up the civil suit filed by Karisma’s children, who are claiming their share in their late father’s estimated ₹30,000 crore fortune. Justice Jyoti Singh issued summons to the defendants and gave them two weeks to file written replies. “Once I register the suit, the doctrine of lis will apply,” the Court remarked. Now amidst this development, a latest report suggests that Sunjay was helping Karisma and the two children secure Portuguese citizenship. According to News18, this information has come into picture with one message recording him telling her that she would have to give up her Indian passport to make it happen as India doesn’t allow dual citizenship. In their plea, the children allege that Sunjay’s widow, Priya Kapur, forged his will in order to gain complete control of his assets. Their lawyer, Senior Advocate Mahesh Jethmalani, told the Court that the will had never been revealed before, was unregistered, and was read “in haste” at the Taj Hotel. Calling the circumstances “suspicious,” he pointed out that the executor only learned about the will a day before and that it surfaced through a family employee.Priya Kapur’s lawyer, Senior Advocate Rajiv Nayar, countered that the case itself shouldn’t stand. He argued that Karisma’s children are already beneficiaries of the family trust and had received assets worth ₹1,900 crore just before the case was filed. “It’s not as if these people are left on the streets. I am a widow with a six-year-old child. For 15 years, they were nowhere to be seen,” Nayar said. He confirmed the will was in their possession, showed it to Justice Singh, and added that he was willing to share it with the plaintiffs, provided they signed a non-disclosure agreement.Adding to the drama was Sunjay’s mother, Rani Kapur, who also objected to how things were unfolding. Speaking through her lawyer, Senior Advocate Vaibhav Gaggar, she told the Court, “There’s something unholy going on. I am 80 years old and concerned about my grandchildren. A trust set up by me has nothing for me? Despite repeated mails, I never received a copy of the will.”
